Ron and I headed off to the city today to see "Crazy Heart" with Jeff Bridges. It was a little film about a down-on-his-luck alcoholic country singer. Jeff was amazing and did a wonderful job singing and playing the guitar. Maggie Gyllenhall was his MUCH younger love interest. She was ok, but I felt like they fell for each other a little too quickly and conveniently. It was just a little cliche, but I really was impressed by Jeff's acting - he does deserve a nomination.A couple days ago we went to see "It's Complicated." We took Jenn and Beckie and Brandon. I don't think they appreciated it half as much as Ron and I did. It really was hysterical! Bec made some comment like "Pretty good for an old person movie..." Hard not to be offended by that little comment, but I think she meant it in a good way! Anyway, for those of you in my age range...go see it! It really is funny and sad - a little bittersweet...It didn't make my Top 10 movies of 2009, but I'll give it an honorable mention here.
